My little Man

a couple weeks ago I took Jackson to the doctor, he was not feeling very well. We found out that he had another UTI ( Urinary Tract Infection ) he had one when he was 3 weeks old and was in the hospital for 4 days.

Well this past Thursday I took him in to the doctor to check to see if the infection was gone.

The doctor tried to cath him and realized that it would not work. the tip of his urethra is the size of a pin point instead of the size of a pencil point. I was referred to the urology dept at Primary Children's Hospital.

The doctor is thinking that this could be the cause of the infections- possibly urine is getting stuck and festering.

Next Monday I am taking Jackson back to Primary's to have another ultrasound of his kidneys and then down to the urology dept to have a consult, exam.

I am very nervous:( I want to have this all past him.

so after we went to the wilderness museum we went to a dinasour track museum- it was neat to see actual dinosaur tracks- Mara wasn't that interested by it.



well then it was off to find this lake that Jonah wanted to see, he had heard that there was sand dunes really close to the lake. well when we found it we were a bit suprised-- the sand dunes were not just close by but right next to the lake. Jonah was thrilled:)

wilderness museum

this past weekend we went down to St. George. we had a great time:)

we went to this great wilderness Museum, all of the animals in the museum were either donated from zoo's or different wildlife organizations - the animals died from natural causes.

this is a quote that I first heard from my sweet sister Audrey Lynn.
Mara thought the animals were great- though she did get a little scared when the bears"growled" on the overhead speaker. the scary bear

Numbing Fingers , Part 2

So I went to the Orthopedic, Monday morning--

this is his explaination......
what is happening is my nerve is in a canal, with a tight covering on it- well that covering is too tight and is causing the nerve to be effected. He said that although it is not effecting my ability to hold things and not painful - he believes that I will need to have the surgery . He told me that I could definately wait and try to do therepy but he was pretty confident that I would be back to have the surgery sooner rather than later.

I decided to just have the surgery done.....

I am scheduled to have the surgery on October 28th--yuck!!!

the surgery will not be bad, he will make a 2 inch incision around my elbow, then remove the covering on the canal- then stitch me up. I have to be put under anesthesia fro the surgery so I have to have someone drive me home- what a pain.

the Doctor told me that I would need to take time off work but I am not going to I will be back to work the next day:) aren't I smart?

Yummy Peach Jam!!!

On Saturday Night Mara and I made Yummy Peach Jam-- I have never made jam befiore and I enjoyed it!!! I burned my Thumb even- I love getting war wounds:) here are some pictures of mosat of the bottles that the jam made ( it made 36 small jars) if there is anyone out there that would like some let me know:)

Mara's soap

Monday night, I told Mara that she needed to get in the tub, we went upstairs I started the bath water, Mara started to get her toys out and also to get undressed.

While she was doing this I went into the bedroom to change Jackson's diaper and get him in his jammies. I could smell something strange- when I asked Mara what she was doing , her response was this " just putting soap in my hair" well I finished up with Jackson and went into the bathroom , the smell getting stronger.

Once in the bathroom I saw what "soap" Mara had put in her hair.

I then started to scrub and rinse her hair off as fast as I could. I washed her hair 3 times. Luckily it turned out a lot better than it could have.

the spot is only the size of a dime.

Numbing fingers

Okay so a few weeks ago, okay 7 weeks to be exact, I noticed that two of my fingers on my left hand (my pinky and ring finger) were numb, they are asleep I have no feeling in them.

Well, last Friday I decided that I should probably go get it checked out. I went to the doctor and was told that I needed to have a nerve study done. I then went to a specialist and was electrocuted and stabbed with needles.

after I was "poked" the doctor said" I will send the results to the doctor and then she could decide how to proceed, possibly surgery" I must have had a very confused look on my face because he then proceeded to say "one thing that is a concern to me is that you have a blockage from here to here ( an inch above and below my elbow) dang!!!!

Monkey's in the bed

Mara and Jackson love their sock monkey's that Aunt Audrey made.

Mara sleeps with her almost everynight, she even changes her monkey's clothes and puts jammies on her.

Jackson has just started to really love the monkey, he will squeal with delight whenever he gets ahold of his little buddy.

Mara also likes to pull out the mommy monkey ( my old Monkey, from my mom) and the daddy monkey ( a monkey that I made in high school- it isn't very cute) but she likes to play Monkey house, it is adorable.

She will get all of the monkeys and play for at least an hour making up stories, having them go different places, the little kid monkeys get in trouble and get put in time out- it is great:)

I love seeing both of my little ones love their monkeys:)

Audrey thanks for making these cute little monkeys!!!! I am so glad that my kiddos get to have monkeys like all of us did when we were growing up.

rice cereal

so this past weekend we tried cereal. astyou can see Jackson was not to thrilled with the "yummy" bland rice cereal, he prefers the formula in a bottle:)
